So you’re proof that hard work pays off then. I was dumped into the workforce just before that same recession, bought my first house just before the crash. I was smart, though, only spent half of what the bank had approved me for. Had I extended myself as far as the bank would have let me, and bought the house I

Quite the thoughtful response, Bradley. I grew up poor. Started working at 12, busted my ass, made mistakes along the way. I owned my mistakes and learned from them. Now, I’m pretty fucking comfortable.

Skip the booze, scratchers, and smokes for a bit. Back when I was 14 working the grocery store in my podunk town nearly every person paying with WIC checks seemed to have enough cash to buy a couple cartons of smokes, a couple 30 racks, and $20-50 in scratchers at least every week.

I grew up fucking poor. I stayed in school. Didn’t knock anyone up. Worked my ass off. Now, even if I did lose my job, I’d probably be fine for at least 3 months with no income, much longer with the current unemployment payouts.

I know there are folks out there in shitty circumstances, but the last car I bought I was next to a guy trying to roll his outstanding debt on an Escalade into another top of the line SUV. He had no cash for down payment, and couldn’t afford shit for the monthly, so he wanted to stretch the payments out to 84 months.

Wow, Mr. Boomer, I’ll bet you are a laugh riot.

Did Yoda write this subheader?

I would imagine you could buy a less worse ‘Vette for less cash.

It’s probably 3hrs a day about sports.

I’d be okay with never seeing the inside of an office again. Hearing endless sports chatter or “adults” talk about how they barely remember how they drove home from the bar drives me fucking nuts.

I was actually looking for a wagon before I bought my current vehicle.  Really wanted one with rear facing seats, but the Merc and the Volvo are out of my price range.

Sometimes a lost sale will end up saving you money.  I've had salesguys on construction projects that I was involved in bidding bend over backwards to make a sale to a customer that I suggested they walk away from, because I knew in my gut the post sale care would completely destroy any magin on the job.  Sales guys

While this is true, sometimes you know that a customer is going to be a pain in the ass, and not worth your time. The sale will be a pain, after sale care will be a pain, and even after bending over backwards for them, they will still be unsatisfied and bitch about you to everyone they know. I've dealt with this in in

“Assuming the rust isn’t as bad as it looks,”

It's NY.  Cronyism is a given.  Cuomo shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the White House, the only difference between him and Agent Orange is the letter that comes after their names.

...said the dude utilizing neither capitalization nor punctuation. Forgive me if I don’t take your scathing criticism to heart.

I definitely understand it won’t happen.  It’s just too easy to spend other people’s money, awfully tempting to stick your hands in the cookie jar, as well.  I neglected to mention that the “economic development” projects pushed here resulted in a handful of corruption convictions.  With that much money on the table,

Perhaps this will encourage the States to spend a little more wisely?

Neutral: (Luckily) working just as much as I ever was, adjusting to my new office mates at home, and (figuratively) kicking their little teenage buts in order to get them to do their work.  Seems like we have even less downtime now than we did before this quarantine.

Is this going to be a weekly thing now? What’s the schedule of departures for the coming weeks?
