though i didn't have any issues with Vista, i still upgraded to win7. uses alot less memory.

windows 8 will replace windows 7 if i'm not mistaken.
it's been confirmed that you can use windows 8 with the classic (win7) desktop. Classic mode will also be flash-ready, whereas the metro desktop (app desktop) will be HTML-5 and plug-in free.

I don't understand the hare on Vista. I had next to zero issues with the OS, and never once considered reverting to XP...
in the good old days lans consisted of CS, CS, a little bit of Team Fortress, maybe some more CS, alcohol, illegal things, being sick, CS, then home.
