On the other hand, if the Academy did want to give Marvel an Oscar (and I’m not saying they do), a case could be made for Endgame as the culmination of everything up to that point, in the same way that Return of the King’s clean sweep was really about rewarding the whole trilogy rather than that film specifically.

Lol Endgame is better than like half of the movies that have ever been nominated for Best Picture.

Totally! My wife and I binged watch Friday Night Lights over the course of a couple of weeks. When it was over, she said “I feel like our friends moved away...”

The last season of FNL was incredible, and I loved the way it ended. I’m a sucker for a good “and the adventure continues” ending, and that’s basically what we got there.

For me, it’s the pitch perfect closure of both Justified—a flawless run of episodes—and Friday Night Lights--the perfect emotional catharsis for an already reliably heartfelt show.
