Those jokes were/are reprehensible but I don’t recall ever hearing about racist violence against Polish people except within the context of labor disputes. Starting with jokes/cartoons that promote specific images or sentiments is one of the leading ways isms are used as precursors to all out hate and violence. Nazis

Has anybody compiled a list we could give to white people since they don’t seem to remember the things that may seem innocent to them but are, in fact, racist?

I feel like I’ve seen that exact sign/story before.

Racist or not, the guy def. should have checked “NO” purely on the basis of busted arts & crafts skills. Yikes.

In a letter sent Thursday, Olathe Superintendent Dr. Brent Yeager said its Department of Diversity and Engagement is addressing immediate student concerns related to the sign. He said the district is also working to prevent racist behavior in the future.

Lol. These idiots don’t even know what laws they are passing.

Fascists are always inefficient and sloppy, history has always shown that. The TexAss Republicans just adding to that historical pile.

Sure, but scamming rich people directly has a certain zazz to it.

The museum and artist both got a good deal—the artist gets a good commission and the museum gets WAY MORE publicity and recognition because of this stunt than the originally planned artwork. This is a win-win.

Statistically speaking, he’ll probably be fine.

Clever, but a question arises: who is gonna commission him next?

The museum should feel fucking ripped off: Haaning just took the money and just sat there on his ass. No running.

Sharing these stories absolutely can help change minds. Even if it doesn’t change everyone’s mind, it’s still better than no one sharing their stories at all.

That’s always tough with family. I like to follow that up with “should a baby be a punishment?” And “ what does your god/religion say about making mistakes and forgiveness?”

Will it change everyone’s mind? No.

It kind of seems like a misunderstanding that got blown WAY out of proportion by both parties.

I feel like there are two things about this that might be relevant but people are ignoring in the comments I’ve seen (even the ones that aren’t blatantly misogynist):

White latin americans are some of the most racist people around.
