In theory, I agree with you. I think that the reasons for exempting churches from taxation are, at this point, fairly antiquated and no longer applicable. Selena Gomez? This reminded me a lot of her. I also think she's smart enough to obfuscate some of the details. The parts she went into great detail about, like her upbringing, are probably the true parts. Here's a real quote from her -
