Yeah, and you’ve got to keep in mind that Barry trained half the guys himself, and since he was on good terms with Hank, they had no reason to suspect Barry would shoot them; it’s probably a shock to have someone you trust show up at your doorstep with the intent to mow you down.

They needed to get a forensic audiologist in there to examine the recording and establish that the speaker could not have been Gene.

Now playing

I’m not of the mind that yelling automatically translates to bad acting.

In my defense, was playing the Shadowrun Dragonfall mission last night which involved a Herr Fuchs, so that might have been on my mind. But also in my defense, who gives a Fuch?

Who are you? The Master of Spelling?

I think the look on Sally’s face while receiving all the praise says it all: this was not who she wants to be as an actress.

Well, jeez.

Hader is a strangely unique talent. I know no other actor who can go from rage to comedy in a split second and be completely believable in each instance.

There’s a hole in Fuches’ face.

I’ve decided to completely ignore any basic in reality of criminal investigation for this show, and it’s made me enjoy it a lot more, but last night’s episode was still a bit much in terms of even a lower expectation of believable fiction.

Barry isn’t redeemable. That much was clear in S1 when he killed Chris and was confirmed when he killed Moss.

I was thinking about that. Murthi’s point that it was fantastical is a good one. I was expecting Barry to get the drop on Mayrbek, and take him out by Flanking, but Barry’s killing prowess has never been about how he’s such a tactical mastermind. It’s always been about how most people can’t combine skill and

What an amazing end to the season. Hader, Berg, and everyone else involved are really firing on all cylinders and I hope the show is able to maintain this level of quality (I worry it could dip after three or four seasons of such a high wire act). The moment when Sally receives all the praise for her hacky performance

I don’t see Barry as redeemable, and I don’t think Hader does either. I agreed with Fuches, if he was really a good person he would own up to it and admit that it was him who killed Moss, that would save Gene. But in that moment Barry doesn’t even consider it, he only considers killing Fuches, and he’s willing to

Another trait I’ve come to see in Fuches is that he can’t pull the trigger himself. As noted, he’s a master manipulator and uses that skill to get other people to do his dirty work. He was in rare form as he managed to not only talk Hank into protecting him with his Chechen army, but also talk the Bolivians and the

Kudos to the show for giving Sally a great arc this season, and especially to Sarah Goldberg for nailing the part. Anthony Carrigan is a joy, but in my book she earns the non-Hader MVP spot because the theatre half of the show relies on (and receives) superb performances to keep up with the violence and abject

Barry going John Wick on all three mafias at once was fucking terrifying. So smart to keep him basically out of frame or out of focus the entire sequence, focusing mainly on the grisly deaths at his hands. This show deserves every Emmy.

Anthony Carrigan deserves all of the awards. He manages to be funny, touching, real, and he accent he found for Hank is a masterpiece. I never thought I’d like a reluctant Chechen mobster, but his performance has that effect.

Amy’s heel turn never worked for me, despite her brief reversion to form here. Her new physicality still feels all wrong, but at least she gets to spar with Selina.

Line of the night for me goes to Richard!
