Bad Bunny was one of the year’s highlights I must say

I honestly wish they hadn't brought him in since he's scum. But oh well you can't help who the creators of a show you like are chummy with.

Rick And Morty’s relentless self-awareness can sometimes feel like watching a movie with an asshole who can’t stop pointing how stupid everything is; but since most of us have been that asshole at one time other another, there’s a certain relief in watching a show that actually points out the dumb bits before you

What worked for me in the Unity plot back in season 2 was the fact that this was a new side to Rick that we were not prepared to see as an audience. The Tony plot is an extension of that, but it doesn’t say anything new. We knew Rick was incapable of forming genuine relationships, and we knew he was self-aware in his

They were renewed for 70 episodes. They're not going to change Rick, otherwise they wouldn't have a show.

So Rick is just a pathetic starved for connection old man that can’t connect with anyone, and it’s the driving force of all his actions?"

Well said! And if white audiences where legitimately interested in confronting bigotry they would accept a marginalized protagonist as their official point of view for the film. People learn from empathizing with others and better understanding that reality. It is not necessary to add significant depth to white

Sarcasm or ignorance, we'll never know!

She was born into it. Is it fair to call her a “fucking idiot”? I’ll admit to bias since I love her performances, but I’d argue at best her involvement is problematic. She seems to be very private about it and makes no attempts to promote it. Unless anything comes to light, we can’t make assumptions about her level of

I agree with the author. Even if Lillian the character is meant to be ridiculous, the punchline for this B plot wasn’t Lillian, or middle-aged women, or millennial men. It’s young women who are “too sensitive” and there’s never a scene or a line that subverts that thought. So it’s bad satire.

I’m still catching up (starting s4 tonight!) but I understand the lack of scenes between Stevie and Alexis. Stevie is David’s friend because of their similar personalities. I don’t think she is interested in getting to know someone who she doesn’t vibe with or isn’t related by blood or isn’t a hookup. I could be wrong.

I’m so on the fence about this one. On the one hand, I loved and love Mad Men, and I want to see Christina Hendricks and John Slattery. On the other hand, 80 unfocused minutes every week? Really, Matt? You were seduced by the TV Gilded Age faux-prestige episodic bloat?

Show was fine. The kind of show I can only enjoy as 8 weekly installments.

BoJack Horseman’s new season satirizes gritty “prestige” cable dramas and it’s my favorite.

Why not just write an analysis of Netflix comedies? I read this and I have no idea what the show being reviewed is about. And while I agree that Netflix shows have similar issues to one another, I gotta say, between the references to tv drama run times and the traditionally dichotomous comedy and drama genres, the

“We fucked up with Nora."

You say Alone Together is good but is it "love it, amazing, gold star, queen" good?

Shaun is probably my favorite YT subscription. His video essays are brilliant.

I absolutely agree. And overall it was a good performance. It could have gotten old but Biel's performance anchored the series. I just believe Carrie Coon can seemingly effortlessly convey a wider spectrum of emotions. She's magnetic.
