I had already started to resassess my feelings for RENT, which I saw several times as a teenager, but this video really nailed it with some stuff I knew but hadn’t realized and some stuff I was pretty far away from putting together.

I remember how badly the 2005 version did, with most of the original cast.

I think Lindsay Ellis’ video on the film should be an essential companion piece to any viewing of Rent.. Much of the criticism is specific to the terrible film adaptation but plenty of it applies to the original stage play.

I honestly can’t remember if I’ve ever attended a baby shower. I don’t have kids and neither do most of my friends, and my sister lives across the country so I wasn’t on hand for her three kids’ births.

What’s most insulting is that girl’s stuff is over-the-top girly, especially for mid-to-low income shoppers. Higher end stuff is more neutral. But the layers of frills on cheaper kids clothes and stuff like car seats is crazy. 

I don’t think i’ve ever been to a baby shower and if I had, I was probably that weirdly dressed gal with too much eyeliner in the corner, drinking and dodging questions about when I was going to have children.
