As well as this nonsense: a couple of times on the late Gawker, I had people tell me not to use Daesh because it was just some dumb propaganda term dreamed up by Western neo-cons, or some such bullshit, and that I was being a mindless media sheep for using it.

I’ve actually, repeatedly, been called a “terrorist sympathizer” for using the term Daesh by rightists/the alt-right/Trump fanboys. Why is beyond my ken, given that Daesh is insulting and the group itself hates the term.
