hahaha My name is Flaeor and I approve this message!

Thank you! I actually haven't played either of those games so I can't dis/agree with you.

I don't get it. At the last GDC, Iwata was talking about the free games devaluing the medium, and then they go and put a ton of games on the system included for free. I love it, but make up your mind, Nintendo!

Someone's played those web clue hunting games where you constantly change the URL haha Thank you, it worked for me too!

Can you name a few of these console games that were sub-par? I'm curious.

A few things:

I think this is probably following the same sort of line of history as when a new demographic was allowed to vote in the US. There will always be those people that resent that girls are "allowed" to play games, because they're ignorant bigots. Those people will never truly go away.

Yeah they didn't make those rip-away controller cords for Xbox for no reason! haha

You make a great point. I have a friend who knew full well that his system always crashes like a minute after it starts (overheating, probably). He took it to GameStop. They turned it on, booted a game, and turned it off before it crashed. "Certified." :/

If, when Fils-Aime talks about "value" he means "quality," then I don't think that they have anything to worry about at all. Look at YouTube. There are virtually infinite videos on there. For free. All the time. Possibly forever. People still pay for movies and to see movies in theaters (although that might be dying

Why. Why would you ever say that. I subconsciously assumed that a gribble does not exist. Now I HAVE to see what it is!

One part of me wants to laugh at how RIDICULOUS this is...

That's a nice idea, but to me it seems all too similar to Lightning. I think you're on the right track, though.

Funding is required. Most big developers get it from publishers who have a lot of say in how the game goes. i.e. the publisher won't green-light a project unless there's a GREAT chance that they will make money on the deal. Publishers play it safe because they're run by rich people who, for the most part, care about

Please... I'm BEGGING you, PLEASE don't do any ad campaign remotely resembling "your mom will hate this." That was one of the worst ad campaigns I've ever seen. Seriously. Thank you.

Me too. Basically how I (and probably everyone) would want a StarCraft MMO to be, but with all new lore! It'll be a nice fresh start for Blizzard.

Ocarina of Time did just as much to the adventure genre as Half-Life did to the FPS genre. And I love both of them.
