Yup, the swangers aren’t nearly big enough.

...figure out how to remove the outer plastic cover, which when I looked into it... nah, not happening.

IIRC, the WRX and STI come with summer tires. That will definitely knock down a few mpgs.

*That automaker is BYD, a name only 26 years old, by the way.*

Yeah, at some point 10 years ago I changed my mind about ebrakes because someone pointed out that the electronics are more reliable than a cable hanging exposed to the elements. I’ve had to unstick the parking cable on the most reliable car in the world (1995 Camry) so getting rid of the cable makes sense anecdotally.

I remember the scorn heaped on the RSX when it first came out, too. It didn’t help that it coincided with switching the 7th gen Civic to *gasp* *horror* MacPherson struts.

When did this go from knock-off Defender to stone-cold stunner?

you’re probably right.

This one may be the jewel, but I don’t want to influence anyone’s choice, so forget I said anything. A Geo Tracker, maybe a ‘91, with what appears to be a home-crafted plexi rear window, to turn it into a little tiny pickup!

Same experience. To ensure a smooth process, I went with them for the loan so there wouldn’t be a back and forth about it from my preferred lender. Didn’t trade in a car. And still my temp tags expired before I got my new plates. And the delivery experience was just plain bad.

Knowing the Germans, there’s probably a single word for that.

“A merger of equals” means “take the cash and run.”

Reading your comment, I can hear the motor choking putting in a tape. 😂

I am and I do.

I agree, I don’t understand why the NX is four years behind the RAV4 either. If anything it should work the other way around where the Lexus gets to go first followed by Toyota.

A new co-worker went to another country for a conference, and had to go back to his home country for visa renewal. He technically wasn’t even a coworker yet, so his stuff was being relocated including his car. He knew he’d be delayed with the visa, so he asked me to take care of his car for him. So, I picked it up

I think the 2021 NX is based only the XA40 RAV4, which gets 34/30 mpg. The 2022 will be based on the 41/38 mpg Rav4 hybrid.

There was never any real change that came from the Prius because there was never any real sacrifice.

Yeah, I was taking the piss out of JLR. The different settings across manufacturers do similar things, like the sand that’s mentioned, so its interesting they’re going so strongly after VAG.

The dispute was over an invention in which a simple turn of a knob instructs the vehicle systems to adapt to different terrains. It’s a key feature in Jaguar’s F-Pace and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. JLR’s Land Rover division, the original maker of rugged all-terrain vehicles, filed the complaints after
