With the Japan game, they did. They held Argentina to 73 scoreless minutes until their defense short-circuited. Scotland had their chances.

They gave up a penalty in all 3 of their matches! Like, who are they fooling? And yeah they got some bad decisions like the no-call handball against Japan, but they’re given 90 minutes like everyone else.

Fucking pitiful. They can moan about the ref all they want (Corsie did), but they were up 3-0 in the 73rd minute. Fucking defend! They have no one to blame but themselves, and Shelley Kerr. Ellis-esque game management.

All Scotland had to do was defend for 17 minutes plus stoppage time. They did not.

Man. After the Scotland vs Argentina game, I’m sure more VAR hot takes are coming. But it should be a discussion on refereeing. Woso refereeing leaves A LOT to be desired. 

The encroachment thing reminds me of Christen Press’s 100th cap game, where she scored from the spot but the ref (Koroleva) called it off because Crystal Dunn entered the box too early (a Chilean player stepped on her foot).
