I’ve had my complaints, mostly because I’m a very dedicated woso fan who’s begged for more coverage, but now I’m sad as I realize I’ll have no use for my Deadspin burner anymore (and who knows how much longer for my main). You lot had one hell of a run. I’m sorry to see this place go. Thank for the (mostly) good

You guys are back and that’s great, but the NWSL had their championship on Sunday and you never covered it, and it looks like you won’t be covering it now. If you only stuck to sports, then maybe women’s sports would actually be covered? But that seems like too much to ask, and I doubt that’s something else I can blam

She’s electric on the pitch. I totally agree.

Really? I thought Kerr was rather disappointing (by her standard) and I’m hoping she has a better Olympics. Well, maybe not too much better since I want the USWNT to win gold.

I hate to put it out there because I think it diminishes women’s sports in some people’s eyes, but fuck what they think. Marta’s reason for staying in Orlando, besides the money, is personal at this point. She could spend the rest of her professional career in any league she wants, but she seems quite serious about

No disrespect to German semi-pro soccer, but there was a championship game in professional women’s soccer yesterday, right here in the U. S. of A. The North Carolina Courage cemented their dynasty with a 4-0 win over the Chicago Red Stars. With goals scored by Debinha (Finals MVP), Crystal Dunn (who picked up an ankle

I think I was at that game lol.

I hate all these injuries. First Davidson and now Dunn. This year was probably mayhem on their bodies. And Short having an asthma attack because of the smoke from the fireworks is truly unacceptable. I’d like to think maybe that’s what shook CRS so much, but honestly, fire Rory.

This is great news for the USMNT, for sure. But are y’all gonna post about the NWSL final that was yesterday? Although I hate them, NC Courage is one of the best professional woso teams in the world and they fucking trounced the Chicago Red Stars, 4-0. NCC is officially a dynasty. And CRS has Sam Kerr, Julie Ertz, and

I guess the earliest time to cap-tie Cook would Olympic qualies? I doubt she has a realistic chance of making either 18 for the Olympics, but getting her in as alternate would be smart. Especially now while you still have Krieger in the fold. Have Kriegs break her in like she was with Davidson.

That ACL injury was pretty much it for him.

A relevant tweet:

Team GB should be very good. In theory. If they had a good coach. I’d like to see Alana Cook get cap tied by Vlatko, though.

And Carli Lloyd wanting to start despite...all the reasons she should not.

Fishlocker was a big loss. I love her. How can you not? My god the NWSL first XI was a mess. Good taste. Well, minus Hinkle, but whatever.

As if sports fans don’t “insert [their] hatred” into damn near every story about a team they don’t like? Or do you think homerism is just a Baltimore vs DC thing?

Now playing

I currently associate JP with fucking up every black woman’s name on the USWNT. Like during the England semifinal at the WWC. Press scores a header to put the US up 1-0. JP is busy yelling out “DUNN! GOAL!” as the ball is going into the back of the net. Crystal Dunn is a good 3-4 inches shorter than Christen Press,

I agree with you Ohai being a missed opportunity! Her ACL injury assured she would never be on the squad since she wasn’t already. I was saying in a scenario where everything goes right for her, who would’ve been dropped?

Did you not watch the Women’s World Cup this summer? Granted, the teams didn’t play against each other but the probably will for the Olynpics qualifiers next year.
