Not really. Sky Blue does. The Spirit play at Maryland SoccerPlex, which is their owner’s soccer facility. The stadium Seattle Reign plays in is mainly used for high school football. Four other teams share facilities with their affiliated MLS teams. NC Courage share a stadium with a USL team and the Chicago Red Stars

My brother did the same thing at a tailgate after we ran out of mixers. Only with Cruzan Black Cherry rum. It was sad.

I’m assuming relative to certain European/Asian leagues and their NWSL teammates who happen to be allocated USWNT/CanWNT players (they’re “free” to their NWSL clubs because USSF/Canada pays their wages—lots of stipulations there, though).

Former USWNT member Heather O’Reilly (who was forced out after the 2015 WWC win) was on that Arsenal team and played in that match.

Soccer exists. Women’s soccer exists, too.

Are you gonna write about Rafa’s Barcelona win, Giri?

I think Jill boxed herself into a corner with the roster. She’s unwilling to look at other options or revisit players she’s casted aside and, while this team should be fine on paper, they’re such a mess tactically to boot. Midfield, defense, and goalkeeper all need some serious reconsiderations.

Heath is finallyyyyy coming back this week. If she stays healthy along with Lavelle, Pinoe, and Pugh, there’s the wingers. Add in Morgan and Press and that’s 6 forwards on the roster (with Dunn, KO, and Horan able to fill in as needed). Huerta and Lynn Williams may be on the outside looking in.

I think they wanted a good story out of it, tbh. In light of Pinoe kneeling and everything going on with Trump, here they have an opportunity for positive-patriotic branding. A visible Latina on a team without any (no offense to ARod but she’s white-passing) who is willing to go from Mexico to the USA all because

You make it sound like Pinoe came out of the game because she didn’t have that same lunchpail-esque grit and determination like Lloyd when really she picked up a hamstring injury and will subsequently miss Seattle’s next match against the Courage (lucky for NC).

She scored a peach of a goal yesterday against Rosengard. Jill is unpredictable with the roster (please put Huerta out her misery), but I mean, if she’s going with Morgan as the undisputed first team striker, no one other than Press is a suitable backup.

I think a black woman choosing to go overseas instead of being unhappily employed in Texas is a smart decision.

I scrolled and I scrolled just to find someone say this about Shani Davis.

You sure about that?

But what about Matip’s own goal in the FA Cup? German-born African Mayhem counts, right?

This is kinda all over the place but I’m really into woso...

I know Portland is an outlier in the NWSL, that’s kinda why I was curious how it compared to the MLS. It compares well, which is kinda what I figured.

I wonder how the Thorns compare to MLS teams in home attendance. Both the Timbers and the Thorns are well attended. Fantastic group of supporters, though I’m not exactly a fan.

Yup. The only difference being that KCFC was able to get bought out by Utah in time, and Boston was not. This could become a problem in the near-ish future as the NWSL isn’t exactly profitable yet (it’s still a young league) and independent teams have a hard time keeping up with the MLS backed teams. The Portland
