It’s funny because people preferred Naeher over Harris due to Naeher being more steady in goal, and now it’s like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The infrastructure’s rotten, but only if you are looking for an infrastructure that will allow growth on the international stage. If you’re looking to ride a “trend” and make a few bucks before it goes up in smoke, this might not seem like a problem.

If a cycle or two missing the World Cup destroys the MLS so much that it takes down the NWSL, how can you justify hosting it in 2026? If it’s enough to kill American soccer now, will 9 years be enough time to rebuild it?

The keepers scenario is such a fucking mess. You can see that they’re grooming Jane Campbell from a mile away, while skipping over many other keepers in the meantime (Franch, Smith, Kopmeyer), giving the number one to Naeher seemingly without any competition for the spot, and effectively reproducing the problem

I hope it’s less that USWNT are on a decline than the rest of the world is catching up. The Matildas have lightning in a bottle with Sam Kerr, Canada has a lot of great youth talent in the wings (it turns out you can find great players without pay-to-play), France will always be France but their entire NT plays on the

I mentioned it in another comment, but the USWNT has the same USSF problem as the men w/r/t coaching and youth development.

I agree with everything except keeping Jill Ellis. She’s as much of a failure of the USSF system as Bruce Arena. Their early exit in Rio is all Jill—the WWC dropped in her fucking lap with major thanks to Lauren Cheney’s yellow card accumulation and Carli Lloyd going fucking nuts.

What else is there to do in Dundalk?

(Cheese not included)

My heart says the Penn State game will be close—maybe even an upset—but my mind says half the damn team will probably be injured by then, or, if it’s close, it will come down to the kicker.

The Veals, if you will.

Yeah they did. Sloane didn’t take too kindly to that and the whole thing kinda blew up in her face. She said she’s matured since then, and I think it shows. Obviously, since she just won her first slam.

I would prefer if everyone could stay asleep long enough for Rafa to win Paris Indoor and the YEC (and Miami next year), but I want him to be fresh going into the AO so he can defend those points.

I think if you’re going to compare anyone to the Williamses based on race and gameplay, it would be Madison Keys who gets the honor. But you’re right, Sloane is pusher/retriever who can actually hit with power unlike other, well-known pushers in the women’s game (Aga, CSN, Errani).

Which is fine. We’re not a football school. Ohio State routinely beats us by at least that much.

That 1981 factoid is the last time 4 American women made the semis of the US Open.

I can’t really get into his writing since he’s such a Fedfan, but I actually like Kyrgios. So I’m torn.

The only thing missing from your twitter handle is a rose emoji.

That was a mess! It’s sad that they now have to hope Brazil gets the win tonight to have any hope at winning this bullshit tournament. I’m more excited to see how the Euros semifinals turn out today.
