I think what's missing in these conversations is that, since ISIS is apparently amazingly good at luring young people through social media, she might have actually been in love with the man she was set to marry, or at least with the character of the man that was portrayed to her. I think that might also be the case

I think it depends on how good the sex is compared to how generally stressful and annoying dealing with that particular man is.

Honestly looking at men like my father and my friends' husbands and other husbands I've met, it really isn't that hard to be better than them. As a whole, they've been setting the bar pretty low.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I was just about to ask how many of those terminations after 20 weeks were because of health reasons, like either the child or mother not surviving the birth. This ban just seems so cruel.

As long as human bodies are cheaper than robots, they'll be sending out humans.

I've recently heard of Jesuism (not to be confused with Jesuits), where the faith is built strictly on the actions and words of Christ, which I think fits most of the real Christians I know more than the current overblown mainstream Christian identity. I think people who truly follow Jesuism also reject Paul, so IDK

Whoa, I loved that book! I hope the mini series is good, I didn't know they were making one!

I liked your comment, but it was weird imagining Dwight say it.

It actually doesn't matter if he committed a crime, it's still police brutality. Especially since the cop in question didn't know if he had committed a crime.

Bender is an old British slang term for gays, meant to be derogatory. That's why Avatar aired in the UK as "Avatar: The Legend of Aang".

I would be totally shocked and frightened if I was him, and absolutely want to do anything I could to protect her from predators. But I feeeeel like that shirt is also going to attract predators.

Thanks so much!!

I'm writing a blog post about this and rape culture in general. Does anyone remember a study that I believe was posted here in Jezebel a few years back where they basically asked a bunch of college guys "have you ever raped a woman" and of course they all said no. But then when asked for details - have you ever had

Now playing

For Americans who don't know who he is, this is his novelty band from the 90s, and the reason he thinks he's a rockstar. He's the guy on the far right with the big hair. The band has recently, publicly washed their hands of him.

He has resting rapist doucheface.

Me too. :( I've been looking back at my time as a 18 year old heading out "on the scene" and counting my lucky stars I found very good people there. Then again it doesn't sound like Ghomeshi was ever part of a BDSM community, he found people who were naive to the whole thing and just did whatever he wanted.

Between all this discussion, the support for the women, and the calm-headed responded to the tragedy in Ottawa, I am really proud of my country right now.

I doubt that would happen, he's pretty left wing, a POC, and a self-proclaimed "feminist" (even though his actions obviously disprove that). CBC is nationally funded and that's where he's had his whole career, I doubt Fox would have him.
