Hopefully this is the closest Koenigsegg ever gets to an SUV.

I just want to point out that although you were incorrect in your first post, it seems like you read through your replies & were a big enough person to admit to not knowing the whole story.
I dont think you understand how bad it is on farm equipment. On some models, even routine maintenance and repair of mechanical devices are locked down with DRM software that will gimp your machine if you don't use the OEM repair center and OEM parts.
Car makers can have their own proprietary diagnostic software but are required to have standard OBDII as well. To anyone whining about intrusive government and burdensome regulations Deere is what happens when you don't have them.
You need to read up on the dirtiness that Deere is involved in. Its proprietary unlike ODBII and requires expensive software only obtainable as an authorized repair person. They are worse than Apple when it comes to repair.
You’re not wrong, but the issue here is that John Deere doesn’t want to release the tools to do that to the farmers. On the automotive side we can just plug in our own scan tool if we want to own one. That doesn’t seem to be an option here.
The new systems literally will NOT recognize components, unless a John Deere Representative comes out and runs their recognition USB key to unlock the tractor.
This would be like if you needed to change the brakes on your car and could only go to the dealership, because the moment you removed the wheel, the engine…
Well I think the issue specifically with farm machinery is that “a computer” means “a computer from a John Deere authorized technician because Deere has made it impossible to repair your own item on your own because nothing will work without that computer that the authorized tech has with the USB key that will let you…
I think the problem isn’t just ‘needing a computer’. If I remember right, it’s like dealer only diagnostic tools with cars. It’s that it has to be a Deere authorized mechanic with a proprietary set of hardware that they won’t sell you, and you can’t just use any old laptop.
Yeah, here’s a quote from one of the earlier…
aThis X1000. I think there’s a lot of folks that fail to realize how normalized corruption is in that market. It’s really nearly a requirement for doing business in Japan.
Ghosn’s already spent over a year in jail under conditions that would be considered torture in most western countries. Not allowed to see or talk with his wife for 7 months. Restrictions even on when and how he could talk with his own lawyers. Then he finds out, oh, by the way, your trial won’t be for another year and…
lol, bet you didn’t think you need to defend having a 401k when you woke up this morning.
Hello Oversteer, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Of a HellKitty quickly fleeing
And the excrement that left a stain
Still remains
Within the sound of superchargers
They had issues 10-15 years ago. Now they rank top half or mid pack in most brand surveys. The MQB chassis is solid and the modern 2.0t engine is bulletproof and is used in over a dozen Audi/ VW/ Porsche models. Still a German engineered car so a little more maintenance intense than a Corolla and parts will be more…
It’s all a $$ game. Let’s say they use the Turbo 4 in the CX3 to save costs. So you have to build some mules to verify the engine and components fit. You have to make sure the engine will stay cool and reliable under that hood, as well as meeting emissions standards.
I've got two welders, which will be pried out of my cold dead hands. Presumably after I have inadvertently asphyxiated and electrocuted myself. And my hands might not be cold, smoldering is an option. The prying, that's compulsory.
I re-fill my propane tank. thank you very much!
Seattle made the news over pot, and Chicago one-ups them with crack. Show-offs!
Why do I love my car?
You can’t hose down the interior.
