Interesting read, I am surprised but curious why the smaller engines produce more NOx compared to larger engines.

Isaac Asimov has already addressed this. It is called the Laws of Robotics. People are forgetting self driving car is basically a robot car following a set of directions that has a person in it. Now you have added more and more variables with live people but it is still the same.
