Starred for accuracy.

I did this once in Malaysia. The feeling of it was hilarious but I really should have realized that something like this was a possibility. Won’t be doing THAT again.

Yes. This logo legit frightened me when I was around Kindergarten age.

Oh, good, he’s paying his taxes now, according to this!

As someone who has lost market share to a Fandom site over the years I have no problem with Fandom shooting themselves in the foot. Web 1.0 FTW sometimes, I guess.

The team name being “Sirloins” somehow makes it even better.

I think that’s a fair assessment for league success. I’m not sure how much I care about league success beyond it remaining viable and helping US Soccer as a whole - I mean, I watch several games a week but I personally don’t care if it is a better league than the Eredivisie or the Portuguese Primeira at any particular

You’re arguing against a point I wasn’t making, for what it’s worth. My point is that people seem to have stars in their eyes for Atlanta and LAFC for doing the same kind of team-building that smaller teams have been doing for a while, just with more available money. Did Iago Aspas actually get good, or have Argentina really become that bad?

You completely missed the only good point you could have made about this rule change: teams that want to take advantage of this in the way that your Barca would have liked with Coutinho this year are now going to shell out even more.

Not to continue to kick the horse, as the other commenters have done well explaining it all, but LA Galaxy are essentially the only team still doing that in 2018. At this point they pretty much have that as part of their core branding strategy.

For anyone who wants more like this but outside the video game realm, here’s the blog that likely inspired this idea (which was a good one!).

I almost kind of get it when it’s opening blind boxed toys, when nobody knows what is inside. I wouldn’t watch them myself, but I get why a kid would want to, especially if they don’t have access to get the toys themselves - it’s just another way of living vicariously. That’s what I did with my daughter; I had bought
