He seems to have learned, given no posts like that (yet!) despite City now having the record for most points at this point in an EPL season.

I interviewed for one of the impacted departments about two years ago, during which time they literally told me that I’d make less and no longer be able to work remotely. Now I know I probably would have been one of the people out, too. If I hadn’t already worked in the sports field once, I probably would have been

Don’t judge American soccer knowledge based on this post. You don’t know as much about it as you think.

+1 fellow “at least my degree’s still worth something”

Kolo did just fine during his time, washed up or not. I’d take him back even now, at least to smack Lovren around some.

I posted something pretty similar in the greys. For my kid, I just held on to the money for a year or so until she had her SSN. I’d never thought about swapping beneficiaries, and in my state I still got the tax benefits.

It’s been a few years since I last set up a 529, but I definitely set it up with an initial deposit that was a decently-sized lump sum (my daughter’s inheritance from her great-grandmother). I still got the tax breaks in my state. Not every state works the same way in terms of 529s, of course, but I think enough do

Large-scale websites cost a great deal to run. For companies with their only presence on the web (and/or via mobile app), the operating costs for the technology can easily match or surpass the actual salaries for the humans producing the product.

Here are the better ones I came up with.

Yessssssssssss.

I posted one lousy phone shot of my daughter last night:

First time in several years that my daughter didn’t go the princess route - she went Peach, Leia, and Elena in that span. This year she went with “monkey,” for family reasons. I’ll get better pics later, this one was taken when one of her paws was falling off.

I don’t believe I’ve had that, though I’m too lazy to check my Untappd to see. The label looks familiar, though.

Good call! Pumpkinhead remains my favorite largely because of the nostalgia around the time of my life when I discovered it, but Pumking is good stuff too.

Hey. Pumpkin spice beer can be a glorious thing.

Did anyone ask that person if s/he would be willing to switch places to get that much happiness?

And this is why I’m glad that I have never moved my site where it runs on someone else’s framework or hosting.

I’ve played soccer in the states at several levels for three decades, but I had never watched club soccer until a little over a decade ago, because it wasn’t easy to do so in the rural midwest growing up. When I was living on the east coast, I had the fortune at a new job to sit next to a born-and-bred New Jersey

I used to live about five minutes from Lyndhurst. That was a hell of a place to spend a fall afternoon.

Not wanting to dox myself too much, but I knew someone on staff at MIT about a decade ago and the same thing happened to her. She and her coworkers saw the student fall past their window, over near where the MIT Museum (used?) to be. Awful.
