I enjoyed burnout, but it isn't something I would buy. With Forza Horizon I expected a Forza game with Forza physics in an open world setting. Instead I felt restricted and stuck with lame theme of a rave music/car/Fast and The Furious street race scene doucheness.

Your missing the point, I had expectations for any game with the Forza brand. They fell way short of my expectations. The TDU series did open world racing much better, it was more about cars and fun than rave music and douchery.

I enjoyed TDU way more than FH. I still feel like the sucked $60 from my wallet and told me to get fucked.
