Wow, I didn’t know that was what happened over there; I just figured Kinja was doing its thing as usual, since pretty much all of the other Gawker sites you could post on.

I thought one of the drawbacks to these were that the mechanicals were available, but that the body parts were unavailable (which was also an issue with the Lotus Elise front end, to a point where those were getting written off or totaled if they had cracked the clamshell front).
Oh great- something else I can stick in my...uh, rotovap.
After reading an article about how Tracy Morgan’s 2020 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ got sideswiped (and the article called it a “half million dollar car”), I was like, really? I thought those were like $300k cars.
When I was in Miami, I went slighly north of there to pick up an i8 convertible from Turo, and I stopped in Bal Harbour on my way back. On the one hand, I only saw one other i8 the entire time I was down there (and it was a hardtop), yet I lost track of how many Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Rolls Royces I saw.
“Simplify, then add lightness...and boobs.”
Then you’re from Texas?
That’s the thing; I get that this is one year only, has a stick, and the big V8. But he’s pricing it as if it’s mostly restored “and the price will go higher as it gets restored”?
If “Roll Tide” were a .gif...
I like it, and I like that fact that it’s local (was just in Bethesda 2 weeks ago), but there are too many things wrong with it for the price. Nice car, just not Nice Price.
Unless I skimmed over it, one other factor to take into account here is, if this hypothetical person wants/needs this car, they probably already have a car that they’ve been driving, which they can trade in, thereby knocking several thousand off the total cost of the new car (and making it much more palatable).
Just when you think the worst thing that could happen involving this guy (having to sleep with him) is introduced to your brain, the idea of “going all night” with him completely decimates said brain.
The Datsun pic...is it just me, or is the paint waaay off on the quarter panel behind the rear door?
Initially, I thought it was about the exterior ones, which look a little odd, but don’t stand out. By the time I got through the article, I think it was about the interior ones, which...I don’t think look bad, and mesh well with the vent and scoop for the handle.
I like them, and have been seeing more of them on the road (someone near me has a dark green one), but I answered my own question with a Google search:
I knew these were low production numbered, but 530? I’d think that each one was essentially special ordered, given that. Because I like oddball cars like this, and because there can’t be but so many of the 530 left (and those that are want crazy amounts of $$), I will say NP.
This.
