These are very expensive nostalgia objects on BaT.

I missed the first click where Jose gets us all to write the story. My first ‘nice’ car was a 92 Olds Acheiva SCX. It was all my HS graduate self could want. I drove it down a bumpy two track to a swimming hole with some friends. About a week later I was driving home when what I thought was an exhaust leak started to

Put the turbo 4/6M in a sweet hatch or wagon, then call it a Monte Carlo.

I never understood how many buyers are in the overlap of afford $80k vehicle/choose a HD pickup.

This is why I’d recommend one to an aged person. They come in a nice shade of blue/teal, too.

CC/short bed is a dad minivan that should be rightfully stigmatized. The bed is what justifies a truck and the stubby beds are all but worthless. I’m sure someone will say how perfect it is for their needs to justify their butch ego hauler, or how the towing capacity opened a world of redneck leisure activities.  6.5'

Would a seatbelt latch clicked in defeat this? They sell them at pet stores with a clip to buckle in a harnessed dog. Use this trick for good, not evil.

This exactly. I disabled the seatbelt chime for my driver side in my truck for when I’m in and out of it on the farm. I know better than to drive at speed among the distracted drivers out on public roads.

Who in their right mind pays serious money for this or any other high trim domestic CUV? I assume it’s employee/family discounts, plus it seems like steep incentives are gone for the time being.

Car fever is real and strong. I had enough salesmen try to give me a case that they send me home with a car to test drive overnight/weekend. I’ve kicked the tires on a used truck to take home and make a craigslist pick up.

I’ve taught financial literacy to high schoolers and some of it is over their head, or values that are better learned from home. Financial literacy is a combination of self awareness, delayed gratification and arithmetic. We used Ramsey curriculum which is akin to abstinence only sex ed. I tried my best, but I’m not

What’s with the PD’s spelling of Caddy?

And two tone. My green & tan F150 is old man classy vs the sea of murdered out dad trucks.

I just finished a seasonal job with lots of driving and outside work. I listen to NPR pretty much all day driving then on the app outside. You definitely up on all of the headlines, but also well informed on other topics. By late afternoon I need a switch to outlaw country.

Not sure if it’s weird; more unique. I thought it was brilliant. The left stalk on countless GMs for about 25 years. The cruise controls, wipers and obviously turn signals all in one place. I pushed the wiper fluid button more than once expecting to set cruise when I switched from Chevy to Ford.

The ignition was a Saab safety feature so your knee didn’t smash into the keys in a collision.

So when you went to Circuit City or your local record store and dropped $18 on a new CD, you could pop it right in the dash and not have to mess with your normal rotation in the changer.

Not quite. This seems to be a good car and ticks some of the boxes, but is no Fit. I hauled a full size screen door and rowed my own. Car Play would’ve been nice.

I never paid attention or noticed until now that the Mazda Ranger has swoopy fenders rather than being a straight rebadge.

Darwin awards do not hamper my pool party.
