They have a product that is losing money out right now winning the generation. FB is almost 100% venture capital whereas Sony has actual revenue streams. If investors squirm with Sony they can divert funds from profitable sectors to prop it up without investor support. FB can’t.

Actually Sony is in a better position to eat costs. They have more retail experience and presence, which is exactly how they came out swinging against Nintendo 20 years ago. They have a deeper marketing budget by far because Facebook doesn’t market anything (we have traditionally been FB’s product).

My first 360, a launch model, ran loud and hot for years. I more or less laughed off the RROD until it happened to me. Luckily MS stepped up and replaced it free even way after warranty.
