Prison time level shit? It’s probably treason.
Prison time level shit? It’s probably treason.
How deep is the shit FBI Director Comey in, if he knew Trump was committing treason & helped throw the election for him?
what? no.
Resign. Resign is the word you were looking for.
If we’re so tough on terrorism we should be tough on ALL terrorism.
They brandished guns and threatened the lives of several people including children. What are you suggesting? Community service?
In comparison to the rest of the civilized world? Yes. That’s more indicative of our systematic obsession with punishment rather than correction.
But for a sentence in the US? No. Hell no. They destroyed property, they terrorized a group of people, including children, they brandished and threatened weapons...…
Considering they threatened a child, committed a hate crime*, and decided to go to trial? This seems about right (if I had my choice they would be tarred and feathered too). I’m all for prison terms being shorter for non-violent crimes, but not for hate crimes, even if no one gets hurt. They also should have taken a…
They threatened children with a shotgun for being black.
Another interesting detail in the sentencing is that they were banished from the county, which is a thing that counties in Georgia apparently do.
“How can white privilege be a thing when I was arrested for threatening a child with a gun?” - These fucknuts, probably
Dude aimed a gun at people and threatened to shoot. He has a couple other charges in there. I’d say 13 years is just about right.
That sounds exactly like the midwest to me. “I don’t don’t know WHAT to think. I KNOW that kid” is awfully close to “we don’t want to ruin that boy’s future with a rape convicion” to my ears.
“I’m so sorry that happened to you.” = “This was a completely random thing, like a sinkhole opening up and swallowing your house, and didn’t have anything to do with our driving to your house, yelling racial slurs, et.c. I want to completely pretend that actions (especially mine) do not have consequences (especially…
Imagine if this was reversed.
Just had a conversation with someone that allowed a boy to get into the National Honors Society after giving me (a black teacher) a Nazi salute. She goes, “I’ve thought about it a lot. I sat that boy down and asked, ‘What were you thinking?’ and he said, ‘I wasn’t thinking’ and —-”
This is the silver lining in this awful story for me. I am completely amazed that Georgia pursued this case, used these laws to convict, and actually gave hefty sentences to these assholes.
“I’m so sorry that happened to you” as if it were a fucking act of god. I’m so glad these people are going to jail.
Wait. That was their defense? That they weren’t the ones who threatened the partygoers? Man, fuck y’all. You rolled up six or seven cars deep into a mostly African-American neighborhood with Confederate flags flying from every single vehicle. You purposely went out looking for a fucking conflict, and when you noticed…
“I would never ...” = “I didn’t realize there would be consequences for my actions.” Which is why we are seeing an uptick in racist and anti-Semitic acts; people are getting the message that they can get away with it.
