This truck didn’t stop on a dime. It stopped on an Altima. Which is much bigger. And provides a better cushion…

Absolutely, they did. Those steelies are all that kept this from a pancake situation.

He looks just like you’d expect

I would not be surprised if the truck driver, after thinking he just killed someone, is actually in worse shape than that woman.

Why are commercial vehicles lacking advanced safety equipment? Collision detection with automated braking is standard on every Toyota and Honda sold today. When these systems are included in vehicles selling for under $30K then why not include them in on highway commercial vehicles selling for $200K plus?

Better is usually subjective when talking about cars. When I say 80's and 90's cars were better, I’m not talking about safety features. I just enjoy driving them more. I’m all for better safety features.

I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever criticized their ugly, boring, penalty box cars for being unsafe.

I give this 11/10 holy-fucking-shits.

Yup.
Learns driver survived that wreck, starts shopping Altimas.
See Altimas.
Accepts death.

Steelies saved the day!

I imagine a portion of the track will be actual workers.

This is why most of the turns at the track will be lefts.

Now, I’m no construction expert, but a rushed 24/7 build doesn’t sound like the kind of environment that is conducive to “stringent labor standards.”

As someone who has been to Oodnadatta before, this is more accurate than you could possibly realise.

Fuck black soil. It’s a combination of black ink, superglue and babyshit. Showering doesn’t wash it off either, it just turns it back into mud.

They’re about 93 miles northwest of Oodnadatta.

None of what you said is accurate about this story. Did you read it?

So I take it you didn’t actually read the story?
