Maybe they didn’t pull the brake far enough for it to really grip, but don’t let people mess with your car like that when you are driving.

Tell them you do that the next time you get your brake pads and rotors changed.

I did this in friend’s Mustang in HS.

This is bad for your brakes over the long haul. You should either be accelerating, or braking, one at a time or slightly overlapping. Your discs (or drums) aren’t engineered to dissipate heat for miles at a time, they will warp. It’s the reason Pike’s Peak racers don’t travel down the hill in one continuous stretch.

RTFM- it's clearly stated not to use cruise control in hilly environments. Riding your e-brake is not a good idea.

Very clearly we see the VW Diesel Defeat Device (patent pending) lock up the rear tires to notify the driver it has engaged due to hard acceleration, the driver is now aware the car is dangerous to those in the area, as seen by the rollover, often mistaken as NOx emissions.

That sounds like a lot of unnecessary wear... Why is downshifting so annoying?

Slighty related:

looks like O’douls to me.

They don’t when they’re worn out because your dick friends keep activating them at speed...

I will admit: I have always wondered what would happen if you pulled the e-brake at highway speeds. Now I don’t have to try it myself!

Trouble with that is, park of the existence of that brake is for stopping the car when the hydraulic brake system fails. It’s why they’re (usually) a cable-operated setup that’s mechanically separate all the way to either the cam that moves the shoes or caliper piston, or a completely separate brake shoe (drum-in-disc

I did that one time coming off the highway on an exit ramp when I first started driving (equal parts curiosity and stupidity). Through sheer luck I did a perfect 720 and hit nothing. Felt exactly like this...

When I was a senior in high school, my friend and I were in my sweet sweet 1991 Ford Tempo at an outdoor school event we were setting up for a weekend festival. It had rained and my friend and I were taking a shortcut through some grass down a hill to the parking lot where his car was to get some tools.

Well the one thing that works well on a VW...

I have seen this video way too many times already on my facebook feed in the last few days and there are a lot of different stories behind it.

The sudden acceleration in the Jetta probably triggered some hidden software that increases mileage and decreases emissions by flipping the car on its roof.
