? I didn’t realize I coddled him

Jez really should’ve had a post about Jesse’s speech because it stands on its own as being important.

I only have basic cable, so this is my first time watching Jesse’s speech. I really wish social media and the media hadn’t made it all about Justin Timberlake. All I see are headlines about JT, while the original message is pushed aside so a bunch of mouth breathing online commenters can turn this back into how black

Calm down. If you are concerned about civil rights then you celebrate all the wins, not just the ones that concern people that look like you.

I truly don’t understand how anyone could have watched Jesse’s speech and come away with the message that “we are all the same/there’s only one race and that’s the human race”, but I guess that’s white privilege for you. Also Justin Timberlake seems kinda dumb.

Don’t try to frame this through the lens of what you make as the assistant mid-shift fries manager at Hardee!s,

You seem to be confused about the meaning of “identical or better.” I think you’re thinking of “worse.”

If I was stuck talking to you at a party, I would pull of all my fingernails and then shove them down your throat so that you drowned from my blood, simply to combat the tedious inanity.

But the New Balance contract was, as stated in another article, complete with no reductions added. Just because Nike says it’s “standard” to include reductions with these contracts doesn’t mean it’s necessary for legitimate contract. If New Balance just puts “Wear our stuff and we’ll pay you this amount for this

My interpretation of the NB contract and the followup from Brooks, etc, is that the reason there were no listed reductions is there were no reductions to list.

Even if it is a basic contract dispute, Nike will try to put this guy in the ground by drawing this out for as long as possible. Nike will have law teams on retainer that will do their best to just bleed him dry. That right there makes this a David and Goliath. Just because he might make more than you or quite a few

Identical or better? The article contends that the New Balance contract was better in that it did not have any reductions of that 375K. Do you have information to suggest that the Nike offer was sweeter in any other respect than keeping him out of court?

You are falsely under the assumption that the Nike contract was better. Nike promised to beat or match New Balance’s contract but their supposed matching added in things to the contract making it worse. The New Balance contract had no reductions and Nike’s counter-offer was worse.

Did you set this as your auto reply? Did you even read what I wrote? Yes I get it you work for Nike PR & need to get the message out. Gotta crush this David can’t have him slinging stones.

I would assume Nike is paying more $$ in this suit then he would make from them in a year. So yeah, David vs. Goliath.

Thank God someone is here to defend the honor of the poor multi-billion dollar sports company against the power of a single track and field athelet. Will no one think of the brands?!?

You’re the only one not getting it. He is a David and Nike is a Goliath.

You think 125k per year for 3 years is only slightly smaller than what Nike is raking in per year? Here’s a hint, they are making BILLIONS per year.

One of those entities is raising funds on a crowdfunding platform, the other is one of the richest brands in the world.

125k/yr? Thats a median tech wage in CA. A far cry from a 10m/yr contract.
