This seems like the best place to out myself as a weirdo with a 914 obsession. I mean I’d take a 911 if it was presented to me . . .

“When you’re old you just need enough money to live comfortably as you wait to die.”
Do they not have marginal tax brackets in Canada?
Yeah I mean who cares about national leadership or the SCOTUS when we can base on our votes on REALLY important stuff like anecdotal interactions with candidates’ ostensible supporters!
Man you are confused.
I think people misunderstood your comment to read that you’re a Bernie supporter who will vote for Stein.
Most people were surprised by the Brexit b/c the polls showed it would not happen. Please do not get complacent when the stakes are so high for so many people.
Okay, thanks. I know I should have just googled it but at some point I get so down about these stories that I can’t bring myself to read anymore about them. Criminal negligence seemed like such an obvious charge to me b/c, even if the defense is correct in stating that he moved, he should not have been ABLE to move…
Wow thanks for the 1L lesson in intent! Did you copy and paste that from your criminal law nutshell book?
Hm. I don’t claim to be an expert on this case, but articles I’ve read definitely suggest (or outright state) that the ride was rough. Do you know how the defense claims he was injured then?
I’m especially confused about the judge’s comment that the officer didn’t “intend” any crime to happen. That’s what the criminal negligence charge was for- you don’t need to intend to hurt someone, you just need to act in a way that disregards their safety.
There are several such “separations.”
Throwing a cell phone is a better analogy? Why? B/c a cell phone flying through the air and a several thousand pound vehicle moving at a high speed are equally dangerous? Were you high when you wrote this?
Yeah, if you actually hurt someone there are additional charges that you could be hit with.
Beg pardon? He was ACTUALLY driving recklessly not just thinking about doing it in the future.
At the risk of being lit on fire, I haven’t been into sports very long (I’m an early 30s female lawyer so not exactly the NFL’s target demo). A few years ago I joined a fantasy league to try to make friends in a new office and I LOVED it. I love NFL just for the moments of fucking insane athleticism. Fantasy is also a…
Do you think lately though (in the last few years since South American Malbecs have really become a “thing” in the U.S.) that a lot of lower priced Malbecs seem like they are injecting with purple food coloring and ethanol? And at the same time the marketing has gotten a little ridiculous (like really, do you need…
It’s my favorite thing to open a bottle at home, taste it right away, then just have a sip every 5-10 minutes for the next 30-60 or so minutes. It works well with cooking, when my hands are busy anyway, and I can see how the taste changes over time which my nerdbrain loves.
Yeah it’s bizarre that the article says decanting does nothing, but then instructs you to swirl the wine around in your glass to aerate it.
I’m a Lions fan and I thought you HAD to be full of shit with that statistic. 1991 and 1957 were the last 2 playoff wins . . . Jesus Christ.
