Basically judges can, for the sake of argument, assume some facts are true for certain portions of a case. So in this case she’s saying, “even if it’s true that you were raped, no hate crime occurred.”

This doesn’t hold for me. People do horrific violent things to each other all the time. I don’t think you can be inside each of their heads to see if they view the other person as “subhuman” or that, even if they do, it is class-motivated, which is required for a hate-crime.

I am a woman, a feminist, and an attorney with some experience in domestic violence cases . . . and I disagree with rockymountain. I also think she’s acting like a fucking child so I’m not going to argue with her.

I didn’t google it until reading your comment, which made me super curious. I, too, regret the decision to google it.

I also love tempeh sloppy joes. Sloppy joes are all about the sauce anyway. The meat/tempeh is just there so you have something to chew on.

But most subs are in a similar bun-type bread as a hot dog. It’s just one huge hunk of bread with a slice that you shove all the shit into. Are you suggesting subs aren’t sandwiches?

I will add, you have to be delusional to accept any of it as true.

WTF? Did you read the article? He was abusing them and one of them was CHAINED TO A POLE when the police arrived.

Yeah I mean if you find it makes you feel better go for it. But it’s hard for me not to get worked up into a lather on this subject in general, given the article we’re commenting on.

Yes! Contacts: the tiniest goggles.

I went to school, ENGINEERING SCHOOL, with this woman who now gives her kids essential oils for everything under the sun. I don’t understand what happened to her brain. It learned science. Where did the science go?

Never change.

The fact that you had a crappy doctor doesn’t mean a “naturopath” is a good thing.

This site may be “for women” but it’s not “for never criticizing anything women do b/c they’re women so we always have to support them.” If those herbal remedies are effective, they will hold up in clinical trials.

I love your comment b/c this weekend I decided that, since I’ve already run a marathon, I’m just going to go ahead and get the epidural.

I haven’t seen anything in this thread even close to insinuating you’re a “monster” for your preferences re: childbirth or breastfeeding.

I don’t know much about this lady, but midwives in the U.S. can also be all of those things. The OB office I go to has more midwives than doctors and they all have a bachelors in nursing and a masters in midwifery (or whatever it’s called).

Yeah but my insurance won’t pay for a massage therapist. Luckily a lot of chiropractors (and the only ones I will see) do therapeutic massage.

My brother in law once dated this chick in chiro school who said she could adjust my face bones to help with my sinus issues. Sigh.

Give someone a try. If they stretch, analyze your gait, massage, and maybe adjust, they’re probably good. If they use a weird machine on you, only adjust you w/ nothing else, and/or try to get you to come in again and again and again for just an adjustment/weird machine thing, then you run away.
