If we're allowed to go outside D&D for monster manuals, my fave is actually the 13th Age Bestidiary. A lot of interesting takes on monsters (like the fake aristocracy of liches) and a lot of hooks and information for the GM to use beyond just the stat blocks.

"Haribo Sugar-Free Gummy Bears"? Isn't that just, like…glue?

2016 came in killin' and is going out killin'.

This isn't just closing the barn doors after the horses escaped; this is closing the barn doors after the horses escaped, settled in a new neighborhood, got married, raised kids, and sent them off to college.

Gotta say, I like the change. I find it much easier on my aging eyes.

That is some seriously Kirby-level perspective on that hammer throw.

He didn't get nearly enough.

That guy has the most punchable face I've ever seen in my life.

It's really amazing how he seems to be incapable of praising someone, even if it's just a thing he's saying to get a cheer, without trying to top the person he's praising.

Anyone who's different from themselves.

One thing I always love about Die Hard is that (for the most part) nobody's acting stupid or making bad choices because the script says so. McClane writes down everyone's names as he hears them when everyone's talking so he has an idea of how many bad guys there are. Gruber immediately plays a convincing cowardly

I think I speak for us all when I say "please be good please be good please be good please be good please be good".

I think the low quality was pretty much why/how Hanna Barbarra managed to get so many shows out the door. Look at how much recycled animation they used even up to the mid-80's.

Oh man stuff like Groovy Ghoulies and Drac Pack were straight up my jam when I was a kid in the early 70's.

What about the big loredump in Friday the 13th: Jason Goes To Hell and cults and demon-powered Jason? Given by a guy who seems to be a certified Jasonologist, no less.

You say that as if Idris Elba as Indiana Jones wouldn't be fucking awesome.

They're highly atheltic clones who really want you to see how UNIQUE they are with their outfits and shit.

It's more the "background" Transylvanias that are trying waaaaaaaaay to hard. They've got that "look at how DIFFERENT I am!" thing, and seem to think they're actually important characters than just background extras.

Everything about this is just trying way too hard.

Watching this now…good lord this is embaraskin'. Half the cast isn't reacting to anything in-character, the other half looks bored out of their minds.
