Yah, you just had to wait a couple years (even for something as basic as NPC’s). Even then, it doesn’t look like all that much these days from what little I care to look at. I’m tired of these “redemption” stories. If you can’t release your game in a workable state and you’re clearly just shoving whatever you can out

In other words, it seems like Cyberpunk 2077 might be the game everyone wanted it to be.”

When Andromeda was just known as 4 I was all for moving to a different Galaxy, moving away from Shepard to dodge having to make an ME3 ending canon.

Long touted as a series in which players’ choices mattered, Mass Effect 3 notoriously wrapped up the trilogy with three endings that were largely similar in appearance save for different-colored explosions

And it just happened to come from a game published by Amazon.

I don’t disagree with the notion that the attachments and deck-building make it less pick-up-and-play friendly than L4D, but I also think that’s kind of a silly criticism to make. L4D would drown in a week if it were released today.

For better or worse, we just don’t live in the world of static arcade shooters

I grabbed the game and am enjoying the hell out of it, it’s just more Far Cry, but if you like Far Cry there you go.

“We didn’t patent the Among Us mechanics,” tweeted co-founder Marcus Bromander at the time. “I don’t think that leads to a healthy game industry.”

Huh. Is it bad that I thought “At least it wasn’t another pedophile?”

New and interesting games are all well and good, but you can barely give someone a primer on a campaign world and expect them pay attention to it. These worlds maintain such a high population of players because you only need a basic passing knowledge of what generic fantasy is, and you can roll up a character.

One of us, One of us, welcome aboard the wonderful, heart pounding, tear jerking, shouting into the air with joy world of One Piece. I too see One Piece as a modern masterpiece up there with the greatest manga stories ever told and Eiichiro Oda as a legend among mangakas. This is a series that I have loved for over 15

This is going to draw a lot of “THIS is what they chose to fix?” type comments, but in all honesty, the things that people want fixed in this game, like police with the capability to pursue you, are entire missing engine functions that will likely not be added until far in the future, if ever.

I had a lot of fun with CP2077 on PC, but the glitches and nihilistic/depressing endings eventually turned me against the game.

Exactly! It’s a crapsack world where everything has failed, there are no ‘good guys’, only shades of grey (which fits in beautifully with the muted color pallet of the fantastic artwork, which is often literally shades of grey). The only possible hope of redemption doesn’t come by human agency but supernatural powers.

It’s a dumb series built around shooting nameless enemies, hunting animals for their skins, taking down forts, and blowing shit up. Personally, I really don’t need it to be more than that.

Video games are a scapegoat for low productivity and workforce engagement among young people by economists, because honestly the more likely options, that they are instead struggling with depression, can’t get a job, or can keep themselves afloat without needing a job thanks to the bank of Mom and Dad, are hard to fit

First, good God, well written.

This game gets rave reviews, has a deep and intricate plot, and features broken characters in a broken world. It seems like my dream game. And yet, I’ve struggled so hard with it. I’ve already started and stopped playing three times, and refuse to give up on it. I even refused to read the spoiler section of this
