This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Gaiman shorts...mostly because it’s the very first story in Fragile Things, if I’m not mistaken, and that was the first book of shorts by him that I read. His books of shorts are all pretty stunning; he’s such a talented and creative writer.
