I think in the books it makes it a bit more clear that Peeta and Katniss started out as strictly political and that Katniss literally couldn’t be with Gale because Pres Snow threatened to kill Gale if Katniss was faking her love of Peeta. I don’t really get the complaints either. It’s a very different book, but it’s an accurate representation of complex trauma and PTSD. Katniss is a different person, and frankly should be a different person after what she’s been through. I thought it was fascinating.

I don’t get all the complaints about Mockingjay, I quite enjoyed the book...
