You can think that all you like, but I think you’re wrong. Van wasn’t there for any acting accolades. She was there for a paycheck because she’s a single mother with a clearly absent father to her child. Jealousy of her daughter wasn’t the issue I was concerned about. Her safety was much more what I had in mind, and I

Yara Greyjoy as well, who took over the Iron Islands. Not just a woman too, but also LGBTQ.

I think some of the “backlash against criticism about representation” is about the fact that it sometimes feels like it’s the only subject critics are interested in. This was, by far, the best episode of House of the Dragon. It managed to create a tension the show has been lacking, and ended with a scene where all the

Makes you wonder why they don’t just build their own VFX studio at this point. Surely having an in house team that works alongside the director much like a DOP does would mitigate a ton of issues like this.

I’ve always wondered why—and no offense to the VFX artists working under back-breaking conditions—the CGI in Marvel movies looks so crummy. Turns out (surprise, surprise) the giant soulless corporation doesn’t give a shit about the computer nerds and sets them up for failure! They’re some of the most lavishly

But in perfect William fashion, in neither scenario he’s satisfied. He gets bored and starts questioning his purpose and who he is. Host William was designed too well and is starting to mirror Human William

I think Teddy meant “Christina” did this to herself because she’s originally the same Dolores that inhabits the Charlotte-host?

Apparently, every story she writes starts with “There’s a girl”. I’m surprised the entire world isn’t Sex and the City by now.

My understanding was that the mob of people were actual humans infected with the nanites or whatever they call the doohickies that allow computers to control human beings.

I actually found this one of the more entertaining episodes this season - I guess because now I see where all the story line pieces fit. I actually did a little clap when Christina stopped her boss mid-sentence, and went:

where Charlotte has finally succeeded in turning the entire human race into her own plaything

Would you believe - I read this whole review and nodded along to the Truman show comparison - but it’s only at this precise moment looking at your comment that I remembered Ed Harris stars in both, as someone controlling the controlled ...

The Truman Show comparison will strengthen if William takes over the storytelling department...

I think we're at the point where it can be safely said this is at least a vastly more interesting season than the third season was. It could all fly off the rails, but at least these are fascinating ideas for the show to be doing this season.

Jodie Foster in Iceland? I’m in

Insomnia (the film) seems like a bit of an influence on this as well.

I was hoping one of them would be playing the long-alluded-to namesake of the show: Trudy Tective.

Sounds like Wind River meets The Terror. Not a bad premise for a show if you ask me.

Lots of women who wear hijabs show some hair.

Now playing

Do we really have to worry about positive representation of . . . Djinn, which are a myth? I don’t think I’ve ever seen the same hand-wringing about positive and culturally-sensitive media presentations of angels. Hell, here’s a Greek God and a Norse God both being handled mockingly in the same scene:
