I “watched” the end of the Colts/Texans game on my ESPN Gamecast app. It looked like Savage was finally getting it together as the Texans went 73 yards with a nice combo of runs and mid-range passes; they had a first down on the Colts 7 with 30 seconds to go. Then I got called away and I missed the end, seeing that

“the pain is considerable as is the difficulty in getting around, including flying”

I watched some hilariously horrible quarterbacking today on NFL Red Zone. I’ve also watched almost every one of Kaepernick’s games. Unless he’s gained 50 lbs of fat and developed a serious drinking problem over the past 9 months, there is no way he’s not better than 25% of the QBs starting in the league right now.

When I read the lead-in to this, I just assumed that the receiver had run into all the underneath coverage space that would naturally be available in this situation, then outran the coverage. But, sheeeee-it! This was a screen pass. Woods just ran.

I’m a dad to three daughters, two in their 20s and one a senior in high school (I also have a son in the middle). Emily’s statement “[b]ecause however surprisingly grown up she looks, she’s his little girl” brought tears to my eyes. Being a parent is a series of failures because its the one thing in any otherwise

Ahhh; I didn’t know the backstory and didn’t remember some of that. The idea of Billy as Upside-Down-Will in original conception makes a lot of sense.

Kevin, good luck with raising your son. He has an advantage over a lot of 3 year olds because his dad thinks about parenting; even today, most parents (particularly most dads) parent ad hoc.

The dropped storyline makes a lot of sense. I’m not so sure I see your “Will is probably gay” hypothesis, however.

I’ve mentioned this previously, but the whole Billy storyline strikes me as too subtle by half. I think the Duffers are trying to convey that Billy is a complete dick because, deep down, he is struggling with his sexual identity. The basketball scene, the subsequent shower scene, his angry overprotectiveness of his

Kershaw was pretty great for 3.1 innings of game 5, then pretty horrible for 3 batters, then pretty good again for the remaining 0.2 inning. More importantly, Kershaw was generally great over 175 innings during the 2017 regular season and has been generally great over the almost 2,000 innings of his entire career.

You are exactly correct that false accusations of rape are very rare. But that is not what Glaser is alleging in his complaint against Pierce. Instead, he accuses her of spreading lies about him, the truthfulness of which she can not possibly know with any certainty. A case like this is exactly why libel laws exist.

Yeah, there were a number of moments that seemed to hint at something more to him, but nothing really came out of any of them, so his role (at least this season) is just “teen dick”.

There are three possible outcomes for the 49ers in this:

Why wasn’t no. 94 “Getting hit by a bus driven by a Christian”?

The NCAA almost had to do this to perpetuate the myth of the student-athlete upon which the entire multi-billion dollar enterprise is built. Its not the games the athletes play that matters so much as its the classes the students attend that matter. Horseshit.

I’m not sure why even false claims of death threats are sufficient to justify firing for cause. I’m sure there is a conduct clause in his contract that allows dismissal for besmirching the reputation of the program, but I don’t see how seeking sympathy via lies does anything but besmirch McElwain’s reputation.

In Benjamin’s defense, once he had his eyes on the ball (and then turned backwards to recover his own drop), he couldn’t know that the Patriots’ coverage guys had outrun the Chargers’ blockers. So picking up the ball and starting to run (rather than just going out of bounds) is a somewhat defensible idea. From that
