Actually, I was referring more to Sean O'Neal's self-deprecation - that is, him (possibly humorously) having a grand theory built up around this video and the consistent reassertion that none of the people involved with its production seem to think much about the video overall, let alone buy into said theory.

It still seems likely to me that the current brevity of WOT is less "AV Club staffers not giving a damn" and more "order from the higher-ups to keep it short". Workplace efficiency, and all that - they saved money by cutting the freelancers, and they don't want the staffers taking too much time from the other things…

I don't know if it makes you a terrible person, but if you saw the movie and still think that his wife dies then maybe you're a stupid person, because large parts of the second half of the movie are him dealing with his ex-wife.

So, I went to the Earwolf page for Spontaneanation to see the pics discussed on the Superego crossover episode, and when I came across the usual "Earwolf lobby picture" for the ep I suddenly realized that Superego is basically the Cheap Trick of comedy.
