Actually, I was referring more to Sean O'Neal's self-deprecation - that is, him (possibly humorously) having a grand theory built up around this video and the consistent reassertion that none of the people involved with its production seem to think much about the video overall, let alone buy into said theory.

Aw, I miss these kinds of articles from the AV Club: indie-rocker navel gazing, but entertaining because it's shameless and self-mocking about its overall inconsequentiality (see also: Modell's Binge & Purge series). Given the current nature of the site, I'm amazed this wasn't titled "Crazy Fan Theory: 'Sugarcube'

It would never work - especially not with somebody from the Mr. Show circle in the lead.

Well, Atom Egoyan directed Ararat 15 years ago, but I guess it's maybe a bit less direct in its focusing on the Armenian Genocide (in that it's not some sweeping, direct epic).

Iggy was good (with Tom Waits) in the otherwise blah "Coffee and Cigarettes".

I guess the producers thought "Works for an NGO" somehow made less sense to the viewing public.

Sure - but Perfect From Now On is perfect (from then ever onward).

Lou Barlow? Sebadoh days? Miserable?! Ya don't say!

I dunno. It's where I basically lost interest in BtS, even though Carry the Zero might be the perfect encapsulation of their sound and is an incredible song.

It still seems likely to me that the current brevity of WOT is less "AV Club staffers not giving a damn" and more "order from the higher-ups to keep it short". Workplace efficiency, and all that - they saved money by cutting the freelancers, and they don't want the staffers taking too much time from the other things

Seriously. In all likelihood, the wall was just some basic sheet rock, and even a child can put a hole through that shit if they want.

I guess we should just be happy it's on there at all…? I mean, Game of Thrones ain't available on Prime.

Check instantwatcher.com for the mostly-daily updates to both Netflix and Amazon Prime.

I don't know if it makes you a terrible person, but if you saw the movie and still think that his wife dies then maybe you're a stupid person, because large parts of the second half of the movie are him dealing with his ex-wife.

So…none of the mash-ups in this thread are funny. Maybe that's why they stopped doing the weekly DVD release article.

Re: Jeremy Carter - I've kind of wondered what's up with him myself. That is, he's really damn funny, so how come I haven't seen/heard him in more things?

Well, Jeff's (mostly) regular podcast job is as the comptroller on Harmontown. He's popped up a few times on Dino & Andy's Skull Juice, too - but that ain't a podcast for everybody, y'know?

Peeps are fine - you just have to let them go a bit stale so they're a little crisp on the outside. Open up the packaging and let sit for a day or two, then you get peak Peep.

I almost wonder if it's old news to them.

So, I went to the Earwolf page for Spontaneanation to see the pics discussed on the Superego crossover episode, and when I came across the usual "Earwolf lobby picture" for the ep I suddenly realized that Superego is basically the Cheap Trick of comedy.
