Someone in my neighborhood has a brand new raptor. I see it every day on my walks and it is impossibly clean. Here in the valley, especially during harvest season your car will get covered in dust in a day.
What about non American V8s? For $5k you can probably find some Lexus’ that are pretty beat up but running fine with some reliable V8 powa. Not a sedan but old SC400s with yellowing headlights would be a fun build.

My SiL has a 06 Corolla that has seen better days. I’ve done my best to keep it going but if it ever goes out, this is the car she needs. At 200k I would give it a tune up and probably change our the timing belt for good measure and it’ll go for another 60k easy.
