Boring is better than ugly. And if you want, you can always head to eBay and rivet on some bolt on flares and stick on a universal lip kit to make it less boring. 

GM had a chance with the Bolt and it’s lower price but the exterior design is just unappealing. I’m sure it’s extremely difficult for designers who have been making ICE cars for decades to design an EV but just copy Tesla and design the Bolt as if it were a Model 2.
