After having the MZ5 I don’t think I can go back to a vehicle without sliding doors. Once the kids are all moved out and there is no longer a need for a minivan I’ll probably get something like the connect. Maybe they’ll have a sweet ST version with a manual. 

This 100%. I’ve been window shopping S2ks and any decent ones will cost about the same as a used low mileage ND Miata. The ND has a more usable power range, modern day amenities and is equally capable on the track.

crazy thing is there are tons of the new Silverado and Silverado HD in around where I live. Tons of trail bosses. They’re ugly as fuck all but they also scream hyper masculinity which makes since with all the drivers I see in them.
