I would try to find a bike somewhere in the middle of the two extremes (probably leaning more toward comfort in my case) and make my fifth vehicle a watercraft of some sort.
I can share my one anecdotal experience using credit card insurance when I damaged a rental car FWIW. I was driving on the interstate last year in MN and an object flew up and smashed the windshield of the rental car I was driving.
I appreciate the effort, but in the end, this is entertainment for kids who still shit themselves. You are way over thinking this.

5 had a ton of cool cars, though! Sure, they stretch the truth during some of the action sequences, but it’s still awesome to see an STi drifting around a warehouse or a tube frame, cab-over truck ripping a GT40 off a train.

I’m replacing a well-maintained low mileage car today. The reason being because needs change. I know you said “probably” better off, so you acknowledged that isn’t true in all cases. We are actually replacing my wife’s Focus, it really isn’t the best vehicle when you have two kids in car seats.
