Was concerned the party would be in trouble without a healer until I remembered Bards can learn healing spells. I’ve played a little of both Pathfinder and D&D, unfortunately never had the opportunity to team up with a Bard. They sound fun.

Also, fingers crossed that they have some sort of gay rep in the film. One of

The Americans used music better.

I don’t blame Hayden for his portrayal in the prequels. George Lucas made a lot of actors look awful in those movies. The only actors who put in decent performances are Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid. It’s great that he get redemption as an actor here because he does deserve it.

I feel like a lot of the prequel bashers, myself included, owe a big time apology to Hayden Christiansen, because he absolutely rocked in this series, tonight’s episode especially. Turns out it really was Lucas’s lousy direction of actors this whole time.

Now we wait to see if Disney will actually have the balls to follow through with more of Reva’s story, or pull a Rose Tico with “The racist fans didn’t like her, and we need to listen to them.”

He was going for the weird old-timey vibe. Also he’s not good at dialogue.

My theory is that Lucas watched a bunch of Kurosawa movies with awkwardly translated subtitles and tried to replicate that tone with his dialogue.

Yeah I coulda sworn it was Seth Rogan. Had to look it up and was baffled by Braff.

ROTJ is definitely not considered better than ANH.

I’ve never heard people refer to ROTJ as better than ANH before now. The consensus ranking of the OT seems to be ESB, ANH, ROTJ.

Quite a lot of the timeframes in ANH that were hinted at just don’t make sense with the prequels. They more hint at the Empire being around for about 40+ years rather than about 20ish.

You frankly have to just ignore it.

I’m also going to drop a theory. They made a point of mentioning Obi-Wan had a brother and it’s become apparent that these shows are (in part) being used as a way to make the choices in the ST less jarring (e.g. The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian have both introduced the idea that the Empire is interested in messing

and mr. jim business! best cat name ever!!!  except for (& this is true), the cat brought into my animal shelter named “sheila from accounting.”

So Weird Al is coming to play our local historic theatre. It’s sold out. I know the theatre manager so I’ve been “specially-selected” to be on the maintenance crew that day in the theatre during his sound check. And then I’ve got good seats for the show later that night.

Exactly.  What a dumbass, dead wrong take.

It’s also very Weird Al to have about the last person I’d think to cast playing him in this movie, but damn if Radcliffe doesn’t look to be pulling it off.

OK, man.

Read about Christian communism in the fourth and fifth chapters of Acts. And Paige is already going to anti nuke protests, which is explicitly leftist.

The most morally "pure" character on the show is Arkady. He's never lied to or betrayed anyone, never killed an innocent bystander. Went the extra mile to save Phil and Liz at the end of Season 1. Was willing to give Nina a second chance, even though he was apparently overruled.

Certain strands of Christianity and communism are pretty compatible - have you read More's utopia? But I say this as someone who was raised catholic - I suspect communists are less likely to see the synergies.
