I’m a fancy bean convert, too. I still use canned beans for a lot of the same things you mentioned, but I do a lot of cooking now where the fancy beans are the main star. The scarlet runner beans are crazy flavorful, and I get the royal coronas and make Smitten Kitchen’s “pizza beans” frequently.
