10's regeneration episode declared that for 24 hours after a regeneration a Time Lord can regenerate from pretty much *anything* with no permanent harm. 10 used it to regrow a hand that was severed in a sword fight with an alien. Apparently he could always do that, it had just never come up before I guess?

I loved how horrified Graham was that the doctor was mocking Tim Shaw about his name. “Don’t wind him up!”

Tim Shaw and his never before mentioned alien species could easily have been the Ice Warriors, I think? Both are somewhat cold-powered and wear scary exosuits. And both are from very honor-conscious cultures, though obviously Tim Shaw himself didn’t really live up to that.

They all dress sorta odd and specific to themselves. Also it’s always spelled out as Doctor. Supposiably she had some say in the design, which was to be comfortable to run around in, with pockets and at a distance be gender neutral.

Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor describing what it’s like to regenerate:

We’ll see if the old adage of “a white man will empty his pockets for you if you convince him the coloreds are about to rise” will equally apply to white women.

Then we’re all fucked.

You know what has been pissing me off lately?  There is already a remedy in the law for someone making “baseless” accusations which cause you damage.  It’s called suing for defamation.  That has not stopped being an option!  If someone lies and said you did something that you didn’t do, YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Well, on average, Nuclear is a greener energy source per kW-hour than even renewables.

They’re sociopathic and have no actual interest in what happens in future generations, nor do they care about what happens in the immediate. Their problems are all immediately taken care of, so they reflexively don’t feel threats in the same way as other people do.

So, let’s get something straight. A private, female citizen came forward to tell the country about her experience with sexual assault because she felt it was her duty to do so in order to give the people in charge a clear picture of the man who they were about to put on the highest court in the land for a lifetime

Do most of these people pretend to be decent and hide behind anonymity? Or are there lots of people out there bragging to their friends about how they threatened to murder someone?

Buddy, if you think there’s a conspiracy to get a *Minnesota* team a championship, I don’t know what to tell ya

May have been rusty at picking out clothes, but...

If that was roughing the passer, then the NFL should just ban all contact on the QB and be done with it.

Milk

This doesn’t surprise me. He was kicked around the studio system for years, developing script after script that never got made. Apparently he made more money NOT making movies for the studios than he ever did making movies for himself, but still. I think about how many Romero movies we were robbed of because of these

Terrific review of a good not great episode. I pretty much agree 100% on all of the high and low lights. One additional concern is that there was something about the staging and pacing that at times made it feel prosaic and earthbound, more like NCIS than Doctor Who. But, as you say, everybody is finding their feet

I liked the new Doctor and the episode seemed solid; however, I can’t tell if the episode was kinda blah or if the ridiculous number of commercials killed all the narrative momentum. I’ll rewatch it again later where I can fast forward through them, but that was an obscene number of commercials. Come on BBC America.

Please quit calling Joe Manchin a Democrat.
