Really? I always thought Robot Chicken was more about satirizing or doing ridiculous “what-if” versions than just name-dropping content like that clip. It’s not comedy gold, but it puts a lot more effort in than Big Bang.

Not quite. Robot Chicken is usually either satirizing or parodying something or twisting it around into something bizarre or genuinely funny. TBBT is “HURR DURR REFERENCES ARE FUNNY ON THEIR OWN. BOOBS, RIGHT GUYS?? HURR.”

Because it’s point (as far as I can tell) is that everyone is weird and everyone has quirks that make us outsiders in some way. Community celebrates the joy of being different and loving what love, whilst Big Bang Theory is (mostly) about looking down at those people.

Oh yeah.... it always amazed me how it managed to be less in your face geeky than TBBT, but clearly capture what it was to be geeky so much more elegantly.

Yeah, I mean, I don’t love abortion, but it’s not really an issue I have a say on so I wouldn’t dare call someone’s mother a whore unless they told me, “Well, mom has been turning a lot of tricks recently and one of them knocked her up so she’s going in for a scoop next week.”

What I really find beautiful about statements like that is the unbridled arrogance of them. You don’t get to decide who goes to hell. God does. Show some goddamn humility to the Big Guy you choose to believe in.
