I can understand the thinking, but if it’s a staggering amount of money, then it’s pretty unreasonable for the theater to bear the entire cost of it, isn’t it? They didn’t do anything wrong and they’re out nearly three-quarters of a million dollars.

As the story notes, it is a tactic to keep the plaintiffs from appealing. I see it all the time. The plaintiffs will agree to not appeal, and the claim for fees and costs will be dismissed. And, yeah, you should if you are out 700K for a frivolous claim. I see people all the time bitch about what a sue-happy society…

A) I love Veep beyond the telling of it. I went back and rewatched all the earlier seasons to get ready for this season, and I couldn’t believe how many brilliant little asides I’d missed the first time around. How can you not love a show that gives you lines like, “Joke’s on you, Dan... I fucking love burritoes”?

I’m with the author - I would have wanted to tell the guy he’d been seen, watch him deny it, then say okay, prove it’s not true, drink it all yourself right now. And yes I realize that’s not the right way to handle it, it’s just what I would have WANTED to do.

Jeez, I hope she’s OK. I don’t know if she’s ever sought professional help, and I’m sure that she cares not a whit for what some anonymous commenter thinks (as well she shouldn’t), but there are people who can help. It’s time consuming, difficult, slow going, and expensive, but it works.
