That is a brilliant idea, just 3 or 4 toggles that you can pick. It would make certain settings immediately accessible from any app (since notification center is) and would probably make me feel a lot better about my iphone....oh and profiles!

Somebody star this man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh geez....

Agree 100%...I honestly thought I would be getting more backlash for my comment. Every other time I have even remotely defended patents, I have been slammed from every direction. In the interest of full disclosure, I *was* a patent attorney for three years. In that time frame I realized it wasn't for me. That being

that is just uncanny!

You have been hearted! Someone who actually has some understanding of the patent system. There is a fundamental misunderstanding of the patent system and what it represents. This is exemplified perfectly from the beginning of this editorial.

I won't disagree with you with regards to tons of apps for the same thing, but I know there are at the very least two apps that I rely on that aren't in the Android market and are on iOS. i want to switch badly, but there are some apps that aren't on Android and there are no equivalents. And if there are slight

That. was. awesome.

No of course not....I am not saying Giz is perfect...but the ramblings with regard to the tech associated with Osama or with Fushikawa was over the top!

Ummm...Fossa is right, it's "trademark" and is completely different from a design patent. And either way, you are both a little off, design patents are patents on the way something look and can have no utility whatsoever. If there is any utility to the design, it must be claimed in a utility application including

Thank god for this....I don't know what it is, but lately, all the comments about how "this isn't tech news" is getting really annoying....especially when the article is about some TECH, but written about in the context of some larger news story.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. Funny though, you were rude to me? Anyways...sorry Eddie, didn't catch the sarcasm....there are a LOT of smart alecks on giz so I just assumed you were one of them my bad! And Mikel, again funny how you are quick to be rude to me assuming I was being rude to Eddie.......

really...???? i hope you are being sarcastic! did you not see my question....make it DEFAULT to the blog view....oy....some people.....

Anyone know a good way to make it default to the blog view? I use RSS typically and want a link to go to the blog view as opposed to the current. I know I can make an entry in my host files and all that jazz...just wanted to know if there was an easy way....and on my iphone too?

Yes....Yes we do!

Any type of motorcycle helmet AR would be incredible. I just recently upgraded to a bluetooth helmet com system which connects to my phone for gps, music, calls, etc. It has voice activation for making and answering calls. That alone has changed my riding comfort. For one my wife can get a hold of me in an emergency

I am not so sure that is the case, there are so many random tech blurbs on this site, it's hard to say that they only write about this stuff due to national incident. For some reason, it appears quite a few people lost context and forget that articles are still posted as frequently without an incident like this!

I agree with Joel, they should have at least mention the possibility of theft. Then people like yourself and Joel could decide. Since you wouldn't change that information without supporting evidence, you don't need to do anything. Some people however would like to be proactive instead of reactive. Last thing I would

Really???? We have posts about goggles with HUDs in them for snowboarding, stuff about virgin's latest airplane, new drone tech, new robot tech, etc.....and now you are complaining that discussing similar tech but in the context of the Osama take down is getting old. If you removed mention of osama or team 6, no one

Why make a comment about drinking like that, especially if you don't drink. Yeah, you said you don't drink, but really? It's sort of condescending, like you're better than that? I could easily say, "GINGER" people will spice *ANYTHING*....OK, I don't cook, actually!
