Yeah, the guy who read my water meter indicated differently, which was a huge surprise to me. My water meter is just past my front door. He said: “everything up to the water main under the sidewalk is the owner’s responsibility.” But then he also admitted to not really knowing, so I am guessing he’s mistaken.

I have a slightly different problem/question.

I recently bought a house. I tried to follow all the advice about viewing it multiple times of day, in different weather etc. etc. - but all this stuff doesn’t take in to account that you’re beholden to when they can actually show the house. We went back 3 times, and each time it was the nicest, sunniest day of the

Absolutely. Came here to say this. I have a pretty weak stomach and tend to throw up when I eat foods that are too rich or fried or whatever. When I wake up in the middle of the night and my stomach is turning, I can usually “stop myself” but it feels a whole hell of a lot better to get that thing out of there, drink

I’m with you. Here’s how I solved the problem. Right now - buy a mothers’ day card. But buy 5. I went with totally blank cards for mothers’ day, fathers’ day, birthdays, weddings, etc. I bought 25 of them on Amazon - totally cheap (less than $1 per card) and they’re great. You can’t buy less than 10 in a pack anyway,

(edit: double posted)

Upstate New York - Catskills region seems to be well positioned for climate change as well. Unfortunately, politically, it is tied into the rest of the state, which will likely have huge climate change problems.

I’m still looking for a 33. I actually had a 2-guess and a 3-guess once, but got stumped and couldn’t get the 4th. The problem with the 2-guess and the 3-guess is that you end up centralizing on a lot of your letters, so you get a little lucky to be in that position, but then you haven’t necessarily expanded the

Duotrigordle has to be on this list. 32 boards. 37 guesses. Good luck!

In LA specifically (and CA more generally), there are good reasons for housing to be so much more expensive now than in the 90s and even mid 2010s. There are more households (Millennials) being formed and having kids in the last 6 years than ever before. This puts buy pressure on bigger places, specifically single

I’ve always been partial to cabinet facing on appliances (I don't know what this is formally called). You can get wood paneling to match your cabinets to make it look like your dishwasher and fridge are just big cabinets. This helps a lot in small kitchens, where the cabinet to appliance ratio is low.

Buy Clear ($200/year) and TSA Pre ($85/5 years). I get to the airport 10 minutes before my flight boards and usually have to stand at the gate for 5 minutes to wait for boarding. I used to fly for work monthly, usually 2x month (and 2x more for roundtrip) and the ~$10 per flight was so so worth it. Even now, only

Buffalo is OK, if you don’t like going outside except for 8 weeks a year. The short summers are beautiful. The long winters, not so much.

I played this through: it stinks.

A good reason to never buy a flip if you can avoid it. The caulk will always show its age after a season or two of harsh temperature changes, and eventually it’ll dry out completely.

.... yep!

I hang out with 4 of my high school friends so much (20 years later) that we don’t go to high school reunions. Why would I? The people I like from high school are already some of my friends that I see most often.

This is a good one! Unfortunately for me, I am definitely going to forget the 4, 16, 28, 40 and someone is going to tell me that it’s 12 degrees out, and I’m going to try to remember this and figure out how to back into 12 —> 21 Fahrenheit - even though I know that’s definitely wrong.

The pheromone traps are the real deal. I’ve done thorough cleanups (or what I thought were thorough) and still caught a few moths the next day or two. I keep re-upping the traps and after a few months, they are finally empty after several weeks.

I tend to agree with you. The only thing I will say against it is that there are plenty of people who don't really care about politics (that alone would be a red flag to some!) and probably politics is not a huge deal on the first date.
