I would like 100% of all taxes I pay to go directly to NASA.

I work for a company that provides application management software—i.e. software that companies use to sift through applications that they receive. Part of what this provides is an online application process through which an applicant uploads his/her cover letter, CV, etc...

TNG vs. Doctor Who.... There is no way for me to choose between these two shows.

I believe this is a third size.. if the current, square tile is the basis, we would then have the double-wide tile, and a 1/4th tile. Just like in WP8, where the smallest size is 1/4th the size of the square tile.

Am actually really happy about the 50/50 side-by-side snapping. That was, hands-down, one of my most used features of windows 7 so am glad to see it coming in 8 (metro). Also am all for moving more settings/controls to the metro desktop (or at least mirroring them there, for those people that hate the metro

Was a rather tough choice for me, really. I am really enjoying GoT, but I think X-Files was simply more original for its time. I still remember some episodes of it. That said, were I to sit down and watch a show now, it would more likely be to rewatch some GoT.

I really didn't understand the immense hatred for the ending. It wasn't fantastic, sure, but it wasn't that big of a deal to me.

Can't believe how close they are. Just put my vote in (for XF) and it showed up as 2,998 (for XF) vs 2,997 (for GoT).

An interesting side note that I have discovered living in Germany as an American (i.e. a country whose language is not your mother tongue): when I hear people speak English it invariably sounds way louder than people speaking German. It is incredibly easy to tune out German as I do not speak it with native fluency.

Got around 60 with a couple tries due to lots of errors. I spend my days typing code on a German setup keyboard and the rest of my time on the standard American keyboard, so often intermix the two and end up with y's instead of z's and a few other misplaced letters/punctuation items.

Exactly my comment to this. I am at the point where I would very much like to be able to buy media, but in Germany it simply isn't feasible. On top of that, two of my primary gadgets are a Surface and Lumia 920, but microsoft's Xbox Video, etc, doesn't offer content for sale here. Even the things that I had purchased

Am calling a final battle between:

Huge improvement in design and UX over the previous version, I think. far more usable (I hated that mini sidebar). Great to see the new design! The commenting system (specifically the text editor) is very wacky on a touch screen, however.

As TrueMad said, that isn't really the case anymore. As a web developer, I have more reason to hate IE than most, but I don't really think this is at all necessary.

Depends a lot on the release cycle as well... if they do four of these "upgrades" per the normal full OS cycle, then maybe we will see increments more in terms of 25%. So From 7 to 7.25 to 7.5 etc. Might make things go down a bit easier than the huge leaps.

My guess is these will be improvements on a much different scale than the Service Packs. Service Packs didn't fix Vista, W7 did. I'm hoping this will be more like a stepping point between major OSes.

I would imagine that people can still approach it this way. But I think it is probably a better idea for MS to approach their OS in this maner so that it doesn't feel like such a huge step each time. Can gradually improve the OS, which, though I quite like, could certainly use a lot of improvement.

Have to agree with JasonGW for the most part. Nokia Music is really quite a nice service. Use it quite a lot at work currently. So much so that I am ever considering paying for the Music+ service at some point, which looks like it will be a pretty clear Spotify competitor.

Can definitely agree with this. I have the Surface RT which I quite enjoy despite it's shortcomings. One that that is readily apparent is the quality of design and materials. Microsoft did an amazing job at engineering these things, regardless of how you feel about the OS. Am looking for a new laptop to be my main

It certainly is cheaper overall, but most plans have much less data than do those in the US. True they are "unlimited", but they throttle after only 3-500mb often. Haven't experienced how slow it actually gets when throttled. And no, not vodafone or telekom :P
