The article did mention the doors have separate addresses, which is what made me think that was a possible explanation. I know a little bit about how condos work in Illinois, although not in NYC, and it makes me think that the below-market-rate apartments are probably managed by a separate entity than the condo

There are two reasons I can think of for the separate doors: the doormen, which are probably paid for with the condo residents’ monthly HOA dues, which are probably astronomical. And for the purposes of having a separate address, which is probably for legal reasons having to do with taxes, rentals vs. owned units,

My condo doesn’t have overhead fixtures in the bedroom. It was converted from an apartment building. Come to think of it, I don’t think any of my apartments have had overhead fixtures in the bedroom.

Those textured ones are SO pretty, though. :(

I think I ALWAYS want a Moscow Mule.

I’ve never used Factor X, but I am waiting eagerly for a few in my Sephora list to go on sale.

OMG so over Christmas, I did my nails with OPI A Pretty Penne from my Birchbox, and then topped it with an Essie glitter topcoat in which the glitter was almost exactly the same rose gold as my base color. It was gorgeous (looked sort of like hammered copper, like a Moscow Mule mug) and lasted without chipping until

And in exchange, female employees just have to hand over the right to make their own private medical decisions.

Oh, it has plenty of problems. I’m not disputing that. The residents should still have reasonable access to fresh food, though.

Okay! I won’t be so pessimistic! Years of evidence can just, y’know, be thrown out the window because they’re negative!

And 50+ are not.

Destroy the competition, knowing damn well what would happen to the communities and not caring. This isn’t new. There are abandoned Walmart husks all over the country.

Ever been to Chicago’s South Side?

Yeah, I know.

Considering the devastation a Walmart store causes, it’s not an entirely inaccurate description.

As much as I fucking hate Walmart, I have a feeling that the stores they’re closing will create a lot of food deserts. :/

I hope they close the Neighborhood store near my office. That place is an eyesore.

Yeah, that’s ringing some bells.

I love that movie. I love that they’re playing Spoon at the party. I love Lizzy Caplan. Love it all.

I watched “Life Aquatic.” Laughing made it a little easier to deal with.
